Note: Bluffton Church Closed Permanently in 2016

Bluffton Church is a non-denominational, Bible-based, contemporary Christian church located in Muskegon, Michigan. We are a “Friend of the Vineyard” church, which means we share our values and spiritual DNA with the Association of Vineyard Churches. You can view a history of the Vineyard video clip below.

Our Vision

We are a church community that follows Jesus in a responsible and mature way, honoring His teaching in our lives.

We strive to advance God’s kingdom by training and equipping people to grow into their individual callings, to do the work of the ministry both inside and outside the walls of the church. Our desire is to know the Father’s love, to know Jesus as a Friend, and to learn to hear the quiet voice of the Holy Spirit.

When we worship, teach, and minister it is with pure hearts and with compassion so that people in our city can see a living example of relevant Christianity.

We are here to invest in Muskegon’s future – bringing contemporary worship, interesting Biblical teaching, prayer for healing, and to help people realize their callings in God.

Our History

Hugh-Kathleen-2012a

In early 2009 the purchase of our “classic” building in the Bluffton neighborhood of Muskegon Michigan was completed.

After several weeks of renovations, we had our first Sunday service May 17th, 2009.

We are here to invest in the Muskegon/Lakeshore community – bringing contemporary worship, interesting Biblical teaching, prayer for healing, and helping people realize their callings in God.

Bluffton Church was started through Chapel Ministries, a 501(c)3 non-profit, and a Michigan non-profit ecclesiastical corporation.

Chapel Ministries is member in good standing of the Full Gospel Fellowship of Christian Ministries International, a covering group for independent churches and ministries worldwide, started by Christ for the Nations.

Our board members come from several church backgrounds, each with a heart to support an independent church.

Likewise our members come from many varied backgrounds – Catholic, Protestant, Charismatic, Bible/Baptist – and even no religion at all. Wherever you are from, if you’re interested in worshiping Jesus in a relaxed but bible based atmosphere – or you’re looking for a church family and like the small church atmosphere – or you need to get back to having God in your life – or you just want to find out what this “Jesus/Christianity/Bible Stuff” is all about – stop by Sunday at 11. We look forward to meeting you!

In 2013 we became a “Friend of the Vineyard”, part of the Vineyard Association of Churches.

The Vineyard Church movement

The Vineyard Association of Churches started at the end of the Jesus People movement in the mid 1970s as “hippies” from around the country found the love and truth in Jesus. Here is a great video about the history of the Vineyard. Sorry to report it does not play on all browsers, if you can’t see it, try another browser:
